There is rarely a full-time opening here, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. Work starts as a paid contract engagement against a real build, because that is the only way either side learns whether the fit is real. If it works, it extends.
A scoped, paid piece of a live build — usually one integration or one eval suite — with a fixed fee and a two-week window. You work against the real repository and the real customer constraints. No take-home puzzle, no unpaid design exercise, and no panel of interviewers who will never work with you.
Remote, asynchronous, and written. Decisions live in the repository and in written scopes rather than in meetings. The upside is autonomy and direct customer contact; the downside is that there is no team to hide inside on a hard week. That suits some people and not others, and it is better said up front.
